Overview

When there is damage to the central nervous system such as Spinal cord and brain, it means that the messages from the brain and not reaching the affected parts of the body. Such condition often manifests itself as loss of movement and sensation, uncontrolled spasm and tremors, poor balance and coordination, and weak muscles.

Comprehensive physiotherapy treats patients with neurological disorders by kick-starting the message pathways that the brain is struggling to use. This can be done through repeated use of body actions and exercises. Physiotherapy is not about immediate cure from the neurological disorder but more about making progress under professional supervision.
